Translate in Context
Document translation with context checks

The full document context comes first. Then the translation.

We first establish the document’s subject, audience and approved terminology. The translation follows the full context, and the key choices are recorded in an additional report.

How it works

01

Add your document

Upload a PDF, DOCX, PPTX, Markdown, TXT, JSON, HTML or PO file. If you are translating an interface, remember to attach screenshots.

02

Set the context

We prepare a description of the subject, audience and tone from the document and any supporting material. You can edit it.

03

Receive a checked translation

The translation gets a second language review, plus checks for tags, variables and file structure.

What you get

More accurate translations

Unlike conventional machine translation or CAT tools, the translation’s wording follows the full context.

An additional language check

Specialised-agent checks catch inconsistent terminology, awkward sentences and passages worth reviewing.

A file that still works

We also verify placeholders, variables, ICU plural forms and tags so technical files continue to work.

A clear delivery time

Delivery takes up to 2 hours, usually a few minutes, depending on the document size. We email you the link to download the translation.

One-time payment with no subscription

One rate per word and no subscription. The displayed example price includes Polish VAT; Paddle applies the correct VAT or sales-tax rate for your country at checkout. You see the final amount before you pay.

€0.01
per word (example price with Polish VAT)
Minimum order: €2.49
Free sample: one document of up to 1,000 words (after sign-up and email confirmation).
The service is sold worldwide in countries supported by Paddle. Customers billing in Poland should use the Polish version for Polish-language support, złoty pricing and a local VAT invoice.

How the quote is calculated

  1. When you upload your files, our automation automatically counts the words in their content.
  2. The example price is word count × €0.01, never less than €2.49, including Polish VAT. The final checkout amount uses the tax rate applicable to your country and is shown before payment.
  3. Once you accept the quote and pay, translation starts automatically. Payment and invoicing are handled by Paddle, which acts as the merchant of record and issues your invoice.

Frequently asked questions

What does "in context" mean here?

We analyse the whole document and all supporting material you add. This lets us establish the right context, subject, audience and neighbouring passages. We also describe the most important decisions in a report. This is a document service, not a live in-context editor: you upload files and receive translated files back.

How is this different from Google Translate or DeepL?

Translate in Context processes and checks the translation in several stages using specialised translation agents. It considers the whole document, checks placeholders, variables, ICU plural forms and tags, and includes a report of important choices. A mediator agent resolves disagreements between agents before the final result is delivered.

Which files can I translate?

PDF, DOCX, PPTX, TXT, MD, JSON, HTML and PO (gettext), up to 25 MB. TXT, JSON, HTML and PO are saved in the same format, PDF and DOCX come back as a new, editable DOCX containing the text only, and PPTX comes back as a presentation. Because word lengths differ between languages, the document layout will usually need later adjustment.

Can I finish the job in a CAT tool (Trados, memoQ, OmegaT)?

Yes. Every order comes with a bilingual XLIFF 1.2 file and a TMX 1.4b translation memory. The XLIFF carries more than the translation: the second engine’s version is included as an alternative proposal wherever it differed from the chosen one, segment comments hold the reason for the choice and any format checks that fired, and segments that need a human look are marked “needs review” — filter on that in your own tool and read only what needs reading. The TMX stays with you and works on later projects.

Which languages are supported?

English, German, French, Spanish, Italian and Polish. Translations into Polish go through an additional check of how natural the language sounds. Both directions are supported.

Are my files safe?

You can download the result for 7 days from delivery. We then delete the source and translated content automatically. Your content is not used to train AI models. See the privacy policy for details.

How much does it cost?

€0.01 per word, with a minimum order of €2.49. We count the words in your files and show a binding quote before payment. You can try the service first at no cost: The free sample covers one document of up to 1000 words, with the decision report. One per account, once your email address is confirmed.

Who do I pay, and who issues the invoice?

Payments and invoicing are handled by Paddle, which acts as the merchant of record for this service. Paddle takes the payment, applies the correct VAT or sales tax for your country and issues the invoice. If you have a valid EU VAT number you can enter it at checkout.

How fast will I get the translation?

Translation starts immediately after payment is confirmed. Delivery is up to 2 hours; usually a few minutes, depending on the document size. We email the download link, which remains active for 7 days.

I am billing in Poland — can I order here?

Use the Polish version at xl8.pl for Polish-language support, prices in złoty and a local VAT invoice issued into the national KSeF system. The international checkout is operated by Paddle and is intended for customers outside Poland.

Do you provide certified or sworn translations?
